"Rubens and his World": A Symposium on 17th and 18th Century Flemish & Dutch Art
"The Glorious Baroque of Northern Europe" will be the topic for the first academic symposium held at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum. Organized around From Old to New, an exhibition in the Frost Art Museum that includes works attributed to Peter Paul Rubens, Jacob Jordaens, Ferdinand Bol, Jacob Van Ruisdael, Meindert Hobbema and Isaac de Jourdeville. This symposium will address issues pertaining to these artists' studios, connoisseurship, patronage, and the Northern Baroque tradition.
Schedule: Friday, Feb. 4, 2001 - 4-6 p.m. Tour of exhibition with Christopher Wright Meet the Scholars reception with special remarks by Consul and Charge de Mission, Arend Gouw, Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Miami.
